Turning back time, pictographs may have been replaced by emojis, but the bold, tattoo-inspired aesthetic synonymous with Ed Hardy remains a landmark in fashion history.

Shirts, hats, pants, jackets — you name it — all feature the recognizable edge of vintage, colorful graphics depicting tigers, skulls, flames, and dragons, embodying most people’s quintessential vision of tattoo art.

For the catwalk presentation, Kevin Christiana reinterpreted house codes, giving them a fresh twist and updating pieces for today’s era of style goals and dreams. Crop tops and fitted patched tops made striking first impressions, resonating as Y2K identifiers with icons like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lil’ Kim, and Snoop Dogg — all pioneers of the trend. Fringe sideburns on sparkling shorts graced the runway — a fitting homage during a time when the talk of the town included a recent boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. The collection reflects an essence of Americana and a nostalgic flashback in time, reshaping hand-painted graphic tees into modern couture.

The collection shown at LAFW spirals into a time capsule, where hardcore aesthetics come alive through daring tanks and sheer prints that blur the boundaries of design and edgy punk. These pieces evoke an era of assertive confidence. The vision is irresistible, irreplaceable, and obtainable, thanks to Christiana’s revival. Live and indulge in a time where fantasies are built on niche hardcore looks that transcend time and define a culture for years to come.

Regardless of advancements in graphic design, bold outlines remain a nostalgic desire, reminding us that nothing compares to the original prints — a true reflection of a unique moment in fashion history.
